Kraul Engine glossary
- Alpha channel — per-pixel transparency information, when present.
- API — the public interface through which a caller requests behavior.
- Arakul Studio — the user-facing creative workspace associated with Kraul Engine.
- Background removal — an operation intended to separate a subject from a background; actual quality and availability require implementation evidence.
- Color space — a defined representation of color values, such as sRGB.
- Decode — converting encoded image bytes into a pixel representation.
- Encode — converting processed pixels into a file or byte representation.
- Foreground isolation — separating a subject from the rest of an image.
- Image dimensions — image width and height in pixels.
- Input contract — documented requirements for values accepted by an operation.
- Mask — a per-pixel representation used to describe selection, opacity or another spatial property.
- Premultiplied alpha — a representation where color channels have already been multiplied by alpha.
- Processing pipeline — ordered stages that transform input into output.
- Public export — a symbol intentionally exposed for consumers to call.
- Regression test — a repeatable test that catches behavior changes from a known baseline.
- Resource ownership — which component is responsible for releasing a buffer, worker, object URL or other resource.
- Source-verified — confirmed by current source code and, where appropriate, tests.
- Unverified — not yet demonstrated by source inspection or reproducible evidence.
- QKC Engine — a separate dependency-free JavaScript quiz/test engine in the OuRi ecosystem; it is not Kraul's image-processing engine.
